Sewer Recognized By NCAA For Most Doubles During The 2019 Season

ETTRICK, VA- After rounding out the season with a several accomplishments on an off the field, to include earning a degree in Health and Physical Education from Virginia State University, Jahleel Sewer (Hampton, VA) received top recognition from the NCAA as the 2018-19 NCAA Division II statistical champion for Doubles Per Game.

Starting in 40 of the Trojans 41 contests during the 2019 season, Sewer was at bat 149 times, connected 63 hits for 42 runs. Catching the attention of the NCAA, Sewer will receive an award for the 23 doubles he earned during the season.

Leading the Trojans in numerous categories during the 2019 campaign, Sewer scored a single game high of 5 runs over Salem University (4/27/19), tallied a single game high of 4 hits against Salem University (4/27/19) and Claflin (5/2/19) and earned the most doubles in a single game (3) against LeMoyne-Owen College to open the season on 2/8/19.

Sewer’s contribution on the field not only led the Trojans to a 21-20 overall record and an Independent Championship game appearance, but an honorable award from the NCAA.
