North Carolina Central U’s Joyce Named to D1 Baseball Top-30 Shortstop List

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University junior Corey Joyce (Lexington, N.C.) has been recognized as one of the top-30 shortstops in the country by D1 Baseball in their Position Power Rankings, the publication announced on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Joyce has had a remarkable career at NCCU so far as he followed a MEAC Rookie of the Year campaign by becoming the first Eagle to be named MEAC Player of the Year in 2018 after finishing in the top-three in the MEAC in batting (.358) and slugging (.542).  He was also named MEAC Preseason Player of the Year for the upcoming season.

Joyce finished top-20 in the nation in stolen bases with 27, and broke the modern era school record in doubles with 15.  He also finished top-10 in the league with six home runs and 37 RBI.  To view the full list, which is led by Casey Martin from Arkansas, visit D1Baseball.com.
