Miles shortstop Destin Davidson was named Player of the Week by the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for his performance over the past week.

Davidson, a senior from Pinson, Ala., hit .438 and had an OPS (on-base + slugging) percentage of 1.001 with 5 RBI from the leadoff spot in five games. He had at least one hit in four of the five contests and scored nearly 30 percent of Miles’ runs during the week. The senior shortstop was nearly flawless in the field as well, making just one error in 25 chances. His best game came against Tougaloo, where he went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and his 2-run double in the fifth inning gave the Golden Bears the lead for good in their 4-3 win.

On the season, Davidson is slashing .389/.436/.639 with eight runs scored, five doubles, two triples and 8 RBI, all of which lead the Golden Bears. Miles is back in action on Wednesday, when it travels to play Auburn Montgomery. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
