The Kentucky State University baseball team has announced it schedule for the 2019 season.

“We’re looking forward to getting 2019 started at Voorhees this weekend,” said Kentucky State University head coach Rob Henry. “This year’s schedule is a challenging one with two games against Division I opponents, games against some Top 25 quality opponents and several other strong programs.

“As always, it seems like the SIAC is getting tougher each year, and this year is no exception. We’ve got an experienced ball club with several starters back and some impact newcomers looking forward to the challenges ahead of us.”

Kentucky State opens the season with 19 straight non-conference games, including a pair of nine-inning contests against Division I Murray State and Division I Eastern Kentucky. Other than two nine-inning games against Cedarville in late February, 17 of the 19 games are on the road. In fact, 23 of the first 25 games are away from home.

In addition to the road games at Division I ballparks, KSU makes its annual trek to the Cincinnati Reds Urban Youth Academy on April 16, facing Cedarville in a nine-inning contest.

The Thorobreds open Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action with a four-game series at Morehouse on March 16 and March 17.

SIAC opponents Lane (March 24/25), Spring Hill (April 6/7), Tuskegee (April 13/14) and Benedict (April 26/27) all visit Frankfort this season.
