Hawkins, Texas – The Jarvis Christian Bulldogs baseball team travelled to Ft. Worth, Texas, to take on Texas Wesleyan University (3-2) at Sycamore park on Friday, February 10, 2017. The Bulldogs (7-4) took the series opener by a score 3-2.

Joseph Lyall (JR/Richmond, TX) (3-0) took to the hill for the Bulldogs and limited the Rams offensive attack through 7.0 innings of work, allowing 8 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), while striking out 5 and walking one, picking up his third win on the year. The Bulldogs were the first to score when the Rams surrendered a bases-loaded walk in the fourth inning. The Rams answered back in the bottom half of the inning to knot the score up at 1. JCC would cross 2 more runs in the 5th and worked out of jams to keep the Rams off the board.

Alejandro Guerrero (JR/San Leandro, CA) (2-1-1) picked up his first save of the season in 2.0 innings of scoreless work. Carlos Andrade (SR/Pasadena, TX) led the way for the Bulldogs going 3-for-5 at the plate, scoring once and driving in two runs.

The Bulldogs (7-4) will stay in Ft. Worth to face Texas Wesleyan University (3-2) at Sycamore Park. Game one of the double header is set for today, Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 12:00pm.
