JACKSON – Jackson State baseball swept Stillman 6-0 and 12-4 Wednesday afternoon at Braddy Field.

Game 1           Jackson State 6, Stillman 0

Junior Kevin Perez tossed four innings and allowed one hit and no walks while striking out eight batters.

Francisco Urena and Brandon Valentin entered in relief and closed out the combined shutout.

Jaylyn Williams continued his recent hot streak and batted 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI and Joshua Green went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs batted in and scored a run.

Raul Hernandez batted 2-for-3 and Wesley Reyes added a pair of hits and scored a run.

Equon Smith and Rahman Williams each picked up a hit.

Game 2           Jackson State 12, Stillman 4

The Tigers broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning to put the game out of reach.

Hernandez batted 3-for-4 with three RBI, including monstrous solo home run to left field.

Dezmond Chumley and R. Williams each went 1-for-2 with a pair of runs batted in.

From the leadoff spot Smith batted 3-for-4 with an RBI and Reyes went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run.

Nikelle Galatas earned the win on the bump and tossed five strong innings and scattered four hits, allowed four runs and one walk and fanned four batters.

Garth Cahill entered in relief and threw two scoreless innings.

The Tigers return to action Friday at Florida A&M.
