Red River Athletic Conference:

Javion Randle Jarvis Christian College Earn Weekly Baseball Awards


WACO, Texas – Javion Randle of Jarvis Christian College (Texas) received the Red River Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week award for the dates of March 2-8, while Trent Cormier of LSU Shreveport (La.) earned RRAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the same dates. This is the sixth set of weekly awards for the 2015 baseball season.

Javion Randle Jarvis Christian College


Randle contributed to the Bulldogs’ series victory over RRAC rival Texas College with three RBIs and two runs scored. In the opening game, the junior outfielder was 3-for-3 with a home run and a double as JCC dropped the Steers, 14-0. He walked twice in the second game and had only one official at-bat as Texas College took a 2-1 victory. The Houston native walked twice and scored twice in the last game as the Bulldogs posted a 6-0 shutout. For the week, Randle was 3-for-6 with five walks and a .727 on-base percentage. He is ninth in the conference in hitting this season with a .346 average, fifth in runs scored with 15, and seventh in RBIs with 12. JCC started the conference season at 2-1 with an 8-10 record overall.

Juan Bracamonte Wins Player of The Week Awards For 2nd Straight Week

New Orleans, La. (GCAConf.com) – The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference announced its winners of Pitcher and Player of the Week for games played from March 1 through March 7, 2015.

EWC Juan Bracamonte


Juan Bracamonte, a 5-8 sophomore from Tampa, Fla.. wins Player of the Week after batting .429 in a pair of games against Judson (Ill.). He went 3-7, driving in three runs and scoring two more. Bracamonte also hit two doubles and stole four bases in five attempts.  He currently leads the GCAC in batting average (.468), runs batted in (19), slugging percentage (.723), doubles (6), and stolen bases (13).
