BELLEVILLE, IL – The Hornets completed their series with the Lynx of Lindenwood University-Belleville today taking both wins with them.

GAME ONE: HARRIS-STOWE (8) LINDENWOOD-BELLEVILLE (7)

After playing the first six innings of game one in early March, the Hornets and Lynx picked up in the top of the 7th inning with HSSU leading 4-1.

Harris-Stowe added in their 5th run of the game in the bottom of the 7th when Luke Lampros (FR/Chesterfield, MO) reached base on Cole Eshleman’s wild throw and brought Brendan Claus (SO/Wentzville, MO) and Colton Anderson (SO/Imperial, MO) across home plate.

The Hornets got two more runs in the 8th when Cole Danielson (JR/Palm Springs, CA) and Harrison Leon(JR/Brentwood, CA) had back-to-back hits that brought McDaniels and Danielson around the bases.

The Lynx came back with 6 unanswered runs in the top of the 9th to cut it close, but Harris-Stowe came out on top with the 8-7 win.

Steven Kemp (SR/O’Fallon, Mo) gets credited with the win after throwing 6.0 innings with 8 strikeouts and 4 hits. Stephen Wells (JR/Orlando, FL) came in to pitch 2.1 innings and recorded 4 strikeouts while Tyler Boles(JR/Clarksville, TN) pitched the last 0.2 inning to get the save.

GAME TWO: HARRIS-STOWE (17) LINDENWOOD-BELLEVILLE (5)

HSSU did not let LUB get that close in game two.

By the time that Lindenwood-Belleville finally scored, Harris-Stowe had already built an 8 runs lead.

After the Lynx scored 5 runs in the 6th inning, the Hornets came back and scored in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings to put the Lynx away.

Kenny Lara (JR/Queens, NY) kicked things off in the top of the 7th with a two-run homerun on the first pitch he saw over the left field fence while Cole Danielson and Leobardo Saldivar Jr. (SR/San Jose, CA) picked up RBIs in the 8th inning to extend the Hornets lead to 12-5.

HSSU flexed their bats in the 9th inning as Caleb Hill (FR/Saint Louis, MO), Brendan ClausKyel Alexander(FR/Chicago, IL), Eddie McDaniels (JR/Lebanon, TN), and Cole Danielson all rounded the bases. Their runs secured Harris-Stowe’s second win of the day and their 25th win of the season.

With the wins, Harris-Stowe moves to 25-12 for the season and 11-6 in AMC play. They will take on NCAA Division I Murray State University on Friday before getting back to conference play at (12) Lyon College.
