Today the Harris-Stowe Hornets Baseball team defeated Principa College 17-11 at Stars Park.  The win moves the Hornets to 12-4 on the season.  The Hornets begin American Midwest Conference play on Friday vs Hannibal-LaGrange.  Head Coach CJ Bilbrey on today’s game, “We did a good job swinging the bat again today.  Our guys have had a good approach for the past three weeks.  We still need to clean some things up before we start conference on Friday.  We will get back to work tomorrow and try to keep getting better.”

Freshman Kendall Sheler got his second start of the season and went 4 2/3 innings and left the game with the Hornets ahead.  Freshman Christian Mitchell came out of the bullpen to get out of bases loaded jam with a 6-4-3 double play started by freshman Brendan Claus.  The Hornets hitters continued to swing the bat well.  Second baseman Roger Amador had a season high 4 hits and Zach Jones had 3 RBI and 2 walks.

  • Hornets are hitting .385 on the season after today’s game
  • Dylan Yankle has 25 RBI to start the season
