Florida Memorial Lions Beat Trinity International To Start Series

On Wednesday afternoon at Harry T. Moore Field on the campus of Florida Memorial University the Lions hosted Trinity International University (4-8) to start a 3-game series against the Warriors.

The Florida Memorial University Lions (11-8, 4-5 TSC) defeated the Warriors, 10-1. The Lions came out swinging in this game early and often as they scored 10 runs, on 12 hits, and took advantage of 5 errors. Center-fielder, Raymond Guerrero, lit up the Warriors’ pitcher with 3 doubles and 2 RBI. Darrin Brown had 2 hits and 1 RBI.

The story of this game was the pitching and defense of the Lions. Left handed pitcher, Christian Suarez, pitched a complete game, striking out 10 batters, allowing 2 walks, and scattering 3 hits. Defensively for the Lions, Axel Gomez made an outstanding diving play and threw the runner out at first base to prevent a runner form scoring in the top of the third inning.

The Lions will play at home again tomorrow, Wednesday, March 7th at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. against Trinity International University.
