McDaniel hit .462 in the four games this past week with two doubles and a triple.

 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The MEAC announced on Monday that Florida A&M’s Willis McDaniel was named Rookie of the Week after his performance in the four games last week. McDaniel’s offensive performance was a key role in the Rattlers series sweep over NC Central. McDaniel batted .462 (6-for-13) with two doubles, a triple, four RBI, four runs scored and held a .769 SLG%.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: 

FAMU 5McDaniel, from Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, hit .462 (6-for-13) in the four games against North Florida and NC Central. In the series sweep over NC Central, McDaniel led the team with a .600 average at the plate and a 1.000 SLG%. He recorded two hits in each of the three games against the Eagles and had a huge opposite field, two-run triple in the eighth inning of game one, that tied the game at 3-3. FAMU went on to score five runs in the inning to win 6-3. McDaniel scored four runs with four RBI, two doubles and a triple in the series against NCCU.
