Jacksonville – The EWC baseball team received some good news on Tuesday as they begin to open the 2019 season as Redshirt-Senior infielder Wyatt Reid was named a Second Team Selection to the Black College Nines Preseason All-Elite Team. Coming off of a significant injury that brought an early end to his 2017 season, Reid was instrumental in helping Edward Waters clinch their fourth consecutive season with 30+ wins last season.
The Tampa, Florida native had a solid 2018 season for the Purple & Orange, leading the team in RBI’s with 43. In 54 games played, Reid batted .328 with 57 hits and two home runs, while also adding a career high 10 stolen bases to his 2018 tally. He also was one of the team leaders in fielding percentage, sporting a .930 percentage with just four errors last season.
Reid and the Tigers will open the 2019 season on the road with a four-game series against #24 Keiser in West Palm Beach. The Tigers & Seahawks will play two games on Friday, January 25th, followed by two more on Saturday, January 26th at Arthur W. Silvester, Jr. Field.
