Jacksonville, Florida – Edward Waters dominated from start to finish in their final road contest of the regular season on Friday afternoon, knocking off city rival Trinity Baptist, 12-3 at the Trinty Ballyard.

The Purple & Orange scoring barrage began in the top of the 1st as the Tigers scored four runs off of Eagle errors, a two-RBI double from Joseph Eischen, and an RBI double from Tyler Rich. EWC plated two more runs in the top of the 2nd to take a 6-0 lead before TBC was able to pull one run back in the bottom of the 3rd to make it a 6-1 game. Sophomore catcher Ricardo Santana blasted a homer in the top of the 5th to provide even more insurance for the Tigers to make it 7-1. The Tigers scored two more runs in the 7th and three more in the 9th to earn a much needed road victory.

As a team, Edward Waters was able to out hit TBC, 17-8. Tyler Rich led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a single, two doubles, and two RBI’s, while Arnie Ruiz and Cayden Frankie both went 3-for-6 for Edward Waters.

On the mound, Levi Sigler earned the victory for the Tigers, going 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs, and recording six strikeouts.

Edward Waters will conclude the 2019 regular season on Saturday with a doubleheader against Trinity Baptist at James P. Small Memorial Park. The Tigers will host Senior Day as six seniors will be recognized prior to the start of the contest. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
