Jacksonville, Florida – 32 runs and 24 hits, including five homeruns between two games were more than enough to push the Tigers to twin five inning, run rule victories over Morris College in their doubleheader Friday afternoon at James P. Small Memorial Park. Edward Waters won Game One, 13-2 and Game Two, 19-3.

Game One: Edward Waters 13, Morris 2 (5 Innings):

The day’s scoring barrage for the Purple & Orange in Game One was paced by the longball as Edward Waters connected on three home runs. Shortstop Marcus Judd hit one in the bottom of the third, while DH Wyatt Reid hit homers in back-to-back plate appearances in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, respectively.

Judd, Reid, Joseph Eischen, and Cayden Frankie all went 2-for-3 in the game to lead the Tigers efforts at the plate.

Zachary Kazak earned a complete game victory for the Tigers, going five innings, allowing just four hits, and picking up a season-high six strikeouts.

Game Two: Edward Waters 19, Morris 3, (5 Innings):

The Edward Waters hit parade continued in Game Two, with the Purple & Orange racking up 19 runs on 14 hits. Freshmen Jose Rivera and Alonzo Knowles added to the Tigers home run tally in back-to-back apperances adding to a seven run bottom of the first inning to put the game out of reach.

Rivera ended the day going a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate for Edward Waters, leading the team in Game Two. Knowles and Keshawn Herring weren’t too far behind, both going 2-for-3.

Jamar Smith earned the win for the Tigers, going 4.0 innings, allowing one hit, and racking up nine strikeouts on the afternoon.

The Tigers will begin a two day, four-game series with Marian University of Indianapolis. Saturday’s doubleheader will begin at 12pm at James P. Small Memorial Park.
