TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Dexter Martin’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh keyed a four-run FAMU rally to end Sunday’s Game Three baseball game against Savannah State, 10-0 at Moore-Kittles Field.

FAMU (9-14, 4-2 MEAC South) put the runners on in motion with Martin at the plate, and his shot up the middle turned a 8-0 lead into a 10-0 run-rule win, which completed a three-game series sweep of the visiting Tigers (2-11, 0-3 MEAC South).

Sophomore starter Josh Barr (2-1) went the distance for FAMU, working seven complete innings, scattering four hits, with four strikeouts against no walks Sunday.

With Barr in complete command, the Rattler offense touched up four Savannah pitchers for 12 hits on the day. Jared Weber finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Seyjuan Lawrence and Kaycee Reese each had two hits. Reese also had a pair of RBIs, with Lawrence and Willis McDaniel each driving in a run.

FAMU scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, as Jared Weber singled in Lawrence, followed by McDaniel’s RBI hit, plating Octavien Moyer.

The Rattlers extended their lead to 3-0 on Weber’s RBI single in the second, and pushed their edge to 4-0 in third on an RBI single by Lawrence.

In the sixth, FAMU added two more runs on an RBI single by Reese, and an RBI ground out by Martin, to push their lead to 6-0.

In the seventh, a Weber single pushed the Rattler margin to 7-0, followed a few batters later by an RBI on a bases loaded walk drawn by Reese, setting the stage for Martin’s walk-off blow.

WHAT’S ON DECK: The Rattlers return to action Friday as they open a three-game home series against the Wofford College Terriers at 5:00 p.m. at Moore-Kittles Field.
