Orangeburg, S.C. – The Claflin University baseball team held its annual Major League Baseball (MLB) scout day, Tuesday (Sept. 18) at Historic Mirmow Field in Orangeburg.  Scouts from 10 different MLB organizations were on hand to evaluate the skills 21 players, made up of current and former Claflin baseball players, across various positions.

“I was really impressed with the guys, I think they all did well,” said Randall.  “We had a good number of scouts, 10, which is the most in recent years.  They were impressed with what they saw in some of the guys and expressed that they will definitely be back in the spring to watch us play.”

Claflin University baseball joined the Peach Belt Conference in July 2019 and will open its 2020 season in early February.
