COLUMBIA, S.C. – Myles Snype drove in six runs, and Javier Santiago had a grand slam as the Benedict College Tigers pounded Clark Atlanta 19-11 in a SIAC baseball game on Monday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Snype had a three-run double in the second inning, and had a bases-loaded walk in the third inning and scored a run on a fielder’s choice in the fifth. Santiago blasted his bases-loaded homer to left field in the third inning as part of a seven-run inning that gave the Tigers a 12-1 lead.

Christopher Floyd also had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two RBIs, getting a solo homer in the second inning. Christopher Harper also drove in four runs, driving in two runs on a single in the fifth inning and another two runs on a single in the sixth inning.

Jacob Lagos earned the win on the mound, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing nine hits and three walks while striking out nine.

Benedict was winning 3-0 in the second inning of the second game of the scheduled doubleheader when an afternoon downpour ended the game.

Benedict returns to action on Wednesday with a non-conference game at Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C. at 6 p.m.
