ALBANY, Ga. – The Golden Rams baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader with the Hawks of Saint Anselm on Saturday, taking the first game 10-7 before falling to the Hawks 12-7 in game two.

Game 1

ASU jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first highlighted by a RBI triple from Kevin Bryant II.

The Golden Rams would add one more run in the bottom of the 2nd inning before surrendering four runs to the visitors in the top of the 3rd to knot the game.

Albany State used three hits and two Saint Anselm wild pitches to plate four runs of their own in the home half to give the hosts the lead for good.

Ernis Reyes ended the game 3-for4 with three runs scored. Ben Greenstein recorded a pinch hit two-RBI single in the 5th inning.

Malik Barrington (3-2) worked 4.0 innings in the win, giving up one earned run on three hits and striking out six.

Game 2

Leading 7-4 entering the top of the 6th inning of a seven inning game, ASU surrendered eight runs over the final two innings to drop the contest.

ASU again got going early with two runs in the first and pushed the lead to 5-1 in the 3rd inning off of a Kyle Walker 2-run home run.

Walker finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Quantico Dodson-Williams was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Brock Rountree (0-1) pitched 2.0 innings in the loss and surrendered five runs (two earned) and struck out three batters.

Albany State (6-11) will conclude their series with Saint Anselm on Sunday, March 3rd, with a single game beginning at 1:00 pm.
