MONTGOMERY – Alabama State 2B Eriq White has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-America team.

White (5-8, 175; Fr., Snellville, Ga.) earned second team honors by the NCBWA after hitting .346 this season with three home runs and 41 RBI. White, the SWAC’s Freshman of the Year while earning first-team all-SWAC honors, played in all 55 games with 54 starts. He was ninth in the SWAC in hits (66) while scoring 47 runs with a .441 on-base percentage and a .461 slugging percentage while stealing 10 bases.

Earlier this month, White was named Freshman All-America by Louisville Slugger as the Hornets won the SWAC Championship for the first time in program history this season.
