HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Baseball is returning to “The Hill.”

Alabama A&M hosts UT-Martin on Wednesday for the Bulldogs’ home-opener.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.

Alabama A&M (0-3) opened the 2020 season this past weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla. With a three-game season against Bethune-Cookman.

Bethune-Cookman completed the series sweep with a 15-7 win on Sunday, however, second-year coach Manny Lora saw some promising signs from his young team throughout the weekend.

“We left way too many runners on base,” Lora said. “But during the last two games of the series, we had guys hit the ball hard, but just right at the other team.”

During the Bethune-Cookman series, sophomore catcher Dillon Roop led Alabama A&M at the plate, finishing 4-of-9 at the plate with two RBIs. Freshman JanMikell Bastardo went 3 for 11 with a walk and Stephan Soto had two hits with a walk and scored two runs.

Alabama A&M also stole seven bases during the series.

Alabama A&M was scheduled to open its home schedule on Tuesday against North Alabama, but because of heavy rainfall in the Tennessee Valley, the game against the Lions has been postponed until April 7.
