ALBANY, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its 2019 baseball all-conference awards, as voted on by the league’s coaches and sports information directors.

Albany State’s Quantico Dodson-Williams headlines the all-conference team after being selected as the 2019 SIAC Player of the Year alongside Kentucky State’s Brady Bibbs who was named 2019 Starting Pitcher of the Year. Miles’ Will Canty earned this year’s Relief Pitcher of the Year honor. Kentucky State’s Josh Graves was selected as the 2019 SIAC Freshman of the Year along with teammate, Jordan Ransom, who was named Utility Player of the Year. Albany State’s head coach, Scott Hemmings, has been named 2019 SIAC Coach of the Year.

Quantico Dodson-Williams of Albany State earned the league’s highest honor after leading the Golden Rams to their second consecutive eastern division title. The infielder came back dominant this year during his senior season as he hit a .338 batting average and led his team to an almost perfect conference record. On the season, he slashed an AVG .338/OBP .416/SLG .571. Dodson-Williams finished with 45 hits, 35 RBIs, and six homeruns.

Kentucky State’s Bibbs earns the top pitcher honor as the 2019 SIAC Starting Pitcher of the Year in the league after capping off regular season with a 3.75 ERA. In 10 appearances with nine starts, the junior pitcher walked off with a perfect 8-0 record striking out 40 on the season.

Canty, a sophomore pitcher, was selected as SIAC’s Relief Pitcher of the Year after finishing with a 3-2 record on 15 appearances and one start. The Alabama native finished the season with four of the five saves for the Golden Bears.

Graves earned top freshman league honors as 2019 SIAC Freshman of the Year. In eight appearances, the Kentucky native helped the Thorobreds on the mound with a 2.63 ERA. The two-way also batted a .276 in 21 games which included eight hits, eight RBIs, and one homerun against Murray State late in the season.

Jordan Ransom of Kentucky State was named the 2019 SIAC Utility Player of the Year. The Georgia native led the Thorobreds offensive efforts with 40 RBIs and 50 hits on the season. In his time with Kentucky State, he split his time with playing both pitcher and outfielder. On the season, Ransom slashed AVG .357/OBP .434/SLG .650 during his senior campaign. In twelve appearances, Ransom collecting 16 strikeouts and five saves.

Albany State’s head coach, Scott Hemmings has completed his third season with the Golden Rams after leading them to the 2018 SIAC Baseball Championship title, their first conference title since 2015. This season, Hemmings led Albany State to an almost perfect conference record, their best since 2014.
