Connor Andrus Makes Pro Baseball Debut

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Former Winston-Salem State University baseball player, Connor Andrus, made his professional baseball debut this past weekend, and went 2-for-4 with one RBI., for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are members of the American Association of Independent Baseball.

WSSUConnor Andrus admitted there were some nerves coming into the game saying, “Even on the flight over, I could barely eat anything. Once I got out here, we’ve all been doing this our whole life. I tried to say, ‘Hey, it’s just baseball. Relax.’ It worked out for me.”

Connor Andrus finished the 2015 season leading the Rams in hitting with a .380 average. He also finished with a team high 68 hits, had 11 doubles, six home runs and scored 42 runs. He also led the Rams with 56 runs batted in. He was named first team All-CIAA at catcher, and was named the 2015 CIAA Player of the Year. He was also named  to the Atlantic Region second team.
